GDI Communications LLC is pleased to announce the release of several new products.

In December 2008, GDI released new communications modules for the 2070 controller.

The 2070-9 series modems are a combination of two modems on a single card that plugs directly into the Model 2070 modem slot. One modem is the functional equivalent of a GDI 400 Series modem while the other is a versatile, AT command set compatible dial- up modem. Models are available to operate on 1200, 2400, or 9600 baud for the FSK section and up to 33.6 Kbaud for the dialup section as well as a dialup modem only.

In January 2009, GDI will release the standalone version of the DSP419FP series modem. The 170/Rack Mount version will be released during the 2nd quarter of 2009.

The GDI DSP419FP modem series features a dual mode full-featured 19200 Fast Poll, V23 and Bell 202T leased line modem with the fastest training time in the industry: 17.4 ms RTS/CTS delay. The GDI DSP419-FP series modems are ideal for multi-drop applications.

The GDI DSP419FP series is designed for 4-wire full duplex or 2-wire half duplex operation over voice-based leased lines or private metallic circuits. The modem utilizes the latest digital-signal processing (DSP) technology to achieve high performance. For optimum performance, the modem employs QAM and FSK modulations to communicate over a variety of transmission lines.

In FlashPoll mode (19200/9600/4800/2400 bps), the GDI DSP419FP series employs QAM modulation and encoding scheme to achieve fast modem training time. In Bell 202T Mode, the modem is also backward compatible with Bell 202T (0-1800 bps) and V.23 (0-1200) modems.

In November 2008, GDI released a new 2400 bps version of the 2070-6 series and renumbered tne 2070-6 modems to match designators that will be noted in the yet to be released Caltrans TEES.
